Residents of Kalamazoo are invited to an Opportunity Fair on Thursday, August 8 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Northside Association for Community Development (612 N Park Street). Employers will be at the event to share short-term training opportunities available this fall that lead to well-paying jobs. Other community partners will also be available to offer support while candidates are enrolled in training programs.
Training programs are available in areas such as patient care, IT support, computer numerical control (CNC) machine operation, public safety, early childhood education, robotics, and more.
This Opportunity Fair is a collaboration between the City of Kalamazoo, Shared Prosperity Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Promise, Michigan Career and Technical Institute, Michigan Works! Southwest, Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency, KYD Network, Metro, YWCA, Kalamazoo Public Safety, KC Ready4's, Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes, Kalamazoo Defender, the Family Health Center, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and the Fatherhood Network.
