Kalamazoo Public Services Opens its Doors to Celebrate Public Service Week Starting May 21

The City of Kalamazoo's Public Services Department will open its doors May 21-24 to celebrate Public Services Week! Each night from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. our Public Services facilities will be open to the public and staff will share information and host discussions about the critical work they do in our City. The City's Public Services staff are responsible for maintaining our infrastructure (such as streets, buildings, water and waste water systems), planting and maintaining trees, snow removal, solid waste programs (leaves, bulk trash, brush, and street sweeping) water quality, waste water treatment, project planning/design, and much more. During Public Services Week community members can also view some of the equipment that is used for this work and tour facilities such as the Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant and the Central Water Pumping Station.
