Motorists Cautioned To Watch For Possible Road Closures Due To Flooding

With nearly an inch of rain received in Kalamazoo between 3:00 am and noon Saturday, and more expected over the next 24 hours, city officials are cautioning the public to watch for possible flooding of low lying areas, especially those near creeks and the Kalamazoo River. City crews are preparing for possible lane or road closures near Portage and Axtell Creeks in the vicinity of Portage Street, Park Street, Crosstown Parkway and Rose Street, among others. Please observe any lane or road closures, and do not drive through flooded or closed roads.
