PARK(ing) Day returns to Kalamazoo on Friday, September 16

Friday September 16 is PARK(ing) Day, an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks. Nine parking spots in downtown Kalamazoo will be transformed and allow residents and visitors to have a little fun during their afternoons. Activities ranging from ladder ball, hula hooping,  storytelling, yoga, jump roping, and board games will be available in the parks, which will be transformed from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m.

Each participating business will also have free 90 minute parking coupons for the Epic ramp on South Street available before and during the event, so parking downtown will still be free and convenient!

A list of all participating businesses, activities, and a map is available  pdf here (2.73 MB) .

Explore what happens when a parking space becomes a public space and have a little fun playing downtown on Friday, September 16!
