Event will include outdoor movie, equipment demonstrations by public safety, giveaways and bike and helmet fittings

The City of Kalamazoo and Kzoo Parks will host an open house event on Friday, July 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the parking lot at Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) Headquarters located at 150 E Crosstown Pkwy in Kalamazoo. This is a rescheduled event that was postponed at the end of May.

The event will include equipment demonstrations from public safety staff including a fire engine. Children are encouraged to bring their bicycles and helmets to the event to get them fitted by public safety officers.

At 7 p.m. Zootopia - chosen by popular vote through an online poll - will be shown on the Kzoo Parks digital video screen in the parking lot. Attendees can bring blankets and chairs to watch the movie and there will also be a limited number of drive-in spaces available for cars. Kzoo Parks will also offer giveaways matching the theme of the movie.
