Two, three-story building will be constructed in the northwest portion of the site containing 36 one-bedroom units with a second three-story building to be constructed in the southeast portion of the site containing 34 one-bedroom units. Asphalt covered drives/parking areas will occupy the majority of the remainder of the property with landscaped lawn space in the northeastern portion of the site. A series of storm water infiltration areas are anticipated adjacent to the two buildings and beneath the asphalt covered parking area between the two buildings. The Project will provide safe, decent, accessible, and affordable housing for the City of Kalamazoo's underserved, older community members. The Project is estimated at $27,000,000, including $500,000 in HUD HOME funds.
