Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 Kick Off Open House

We're excited to announce the start of a new chapter in our city’s journey—Imagine Kalamazoo 2035—a collaborative effort to plan for our future over the next 10 years. It begins with an open house and presentation on Thursday, September 19 at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. The open house will start at 5 p.m., with a presentation from 6 - 7 p.m. The event will wrap up at 7:30 p.m.

This is the very beginning of the IK2035 process. We'll start by reflecting on the work of the past eight years and seeking input on strategic goals to guide our community over the next 10 years. During the open house portions of this event, we'll be asking for your feedback on these items.

At 6 p.m., City staff will lead a presentation all about Imagine Kalamazoo. It will celebrate what was achieved from the last master plan, but also explore what wasn't successful or is left to be done. The presentation will also share what residents can expect over the next year as the planning process unfolds.

We’re looking to Kalamazoo’s future, knowing that great cities are not built by accident nor without embracing change. Join us on September 19 and stay involved throughout the IK2035 process! Make sure your voice will be part of Kalamazoo's Strategic Vision and Master Plan, which are foundational to the city's work for the next 10 years.
