Join City staff and local bat experts for a night of learning and fun!

This free, family-friendly event offers the opportunity to put your building skills to the test to help assemble bat boxes, which will be put up around Kalamazoo. Experts will lead a campfire discussion to answer all your questions about bats (s'mores will be provided, of course!). 

Educational, kid-friendly programming, crafts, and games will be going on throughout the event.

  • Dr. Maarten Vanhof, Professor of Biological Sciences at WMU
  • Beth Keith, Horticulture Lab Coordinator at KVCC Valley Food Hub and citizen scientist conducting acoustic monitoring of bats
