Potholes are defects caused by water entering the street sub-base through surface cracks. The water freezes in early winter, causing it to expand. Each time the water freezes and then thaws, the street is damaged and potholes are born!  To report a pothole please call 269-337-8731.

(If you are inquiring about claims due to damages sustained as a result of the pothole, please be advised that under Michigan governmental immunity law, there is no City liability for damage due to potholes in most cases.)
